Great Scott, Marty! It’s time to jump back in the DeLorean and return to the ‘80s as Rewind Festival returns for its seventh consecutive year.
This edition of the world’s biggest ‘80s festival, headlined by OMD on Saturday and Human League on Sunday, takes place from 21 August to 23 August 2015 at Temple Island Meadows, Henley-on-Thames.
Also on the 2015 bill are the likes of Billy Ocean, Kim Wilde, ABC, Bananarama, Go West, Soul II Soul, Midge Ure, T’Pau, Nik Kershaw, Hot Chocolate, and Belinda Carlisle, while Black Box, Dave Edmunds, Slim Jim Phantom of the Stray Cats, and British Electric Foundation make their debut this year.
The brainchild of Heaven 17’s Martyn Ware, British Electric Foundation features the full Heaven 17 band performing hits sung by the original artists: Robin Scott (M), Thomas Dolby, Eddie Reader (Fairground Attraction), Peter Hook (New Order), Shingai Shoniwa (The Noisettes), and Glenn Gregory (Heaven 17).
In addition to the non-stop ‘80s hits, Rewind Festival will also feature the Silent Disco, Live Karaoke Bar, and the Bump Roller Disco (hire some skates and go for a whirl around the rink to the sound of your favourite ‘80s tunes).
Originally launched at Henley-on-Thames in 2009, Rewind – The 80s Festival attracts 40 000 punters every year and has featured everyone from Boy George, Village People, The B52’s, and Gloria Gaynor, to Kool & The Gang, Holly Johnson, and the Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey.
