Foo Fighters have rescheduled their cancelled Wembley Stadium shows.
They will now be performing at the Milton Keynes Bowl on Saturday 5 September and Sunday 6 September 2015.
Iggy Pop will be opening the show, just as he was scheduled to do at Wembley.
The band were forced to pull out of their European tour, including the two London shows, after lead singer Dave Grohl broke his leg during a fall from the stage in Gothenburg, Sweden on 12 June.
“You have always stood by our band, and we will always stand by you,” Grohl said at the time. “Like I say at every show, we wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you guys. And I mean that. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. And I will do everything I can to come back and give you a night to remember for the rest of your lives as soon as possible.”
Tickets go on public sale on 17 July 2015 at 10am.
The band have subsequently begun their North American tour, with Grohl performing on a specially designed guitar throne, clearly influenced by the Iron Throne from the book and TV series ‘Game of Thrones’.
The frontman insists his injury has strengthened, rather than weakened, the band.
“I think these have been the best shows the Foo Fighters have ever done. I think because of this situation and because of the challenge of just getting onstage to do the shows, the shows are more passionate, they’re more energetic,” Grohl told Associated Press, a few days after the group celebrated their 20th anniversary with a hometown show in Washington DC.
