Tindersticks turning Barbican into ‘Waiting Room’

Tindersticks are returning with a new album and tour in 2016.

‘The Waiting Room’, the group’s 10th studio offering, is due for release on 22 January 2016 and will be accompanied by a series of live cine-concert events including one at The Barbican in London.

Tickets for the 26 April 2016 Barbican show go on sale on 25 September 2015.

Tindersticks’ first studio album since 2012’s ‘The Something Rain’ is billed as their “most ambitious, diverse, and elaborate” in recent years. Featuring a guest appearance from Savages’ Jehnny Beth, brass arrangements by Julian Siegel, and a duet between Tindersticks singer Stuart Staples and his departed friend Lhasa De Sela, ‘The Waiting Room’ is also a collaborative film project.

Each track has been visually interpreted by a director – including Christoph Girardet, Pierre Vinour, Claire Denis, Rosie Pedlow and Joe King, Gregorio Graziosi, and Richard Dumas. The first of these short films to see the light of day is from Brazil’s Gabriel Sanna and accompanies ‘We are Dreamers!’ (featuring Jehnny Beth).
