Tuff Love are ramping up for an extensive European tour in November that includes a stop at London’s Dalston Victoria.
The Scottish band — Julie Eisenstein (guitar, vocals) and Suse Bear (bass, vocals) plus live drummer Iain Stewart of The Phantom Band — have just unveiled the video for ‘Duke’, the lead single of their recently announced EP, ‘Dregs’.
“We spent 8 hours lying on the ground putting our faces through little holes to make the video for ‘Duke’,” Eisenstein and Bear said of the shoot, directed by Ben Cowie and Alan Cameron of Wake Up Advice.
“If you like stripes and patterns then you might like this. If it looks like we are in pain then it’s because we are – it was like doing one big long crunch for eight hours. We did have some support from pillows for head support but they didn’t work 100%. Anyways we now have abs and we did not before.”
‘Dregs’, which is released on 6 November, follows the EPs ‘Junk’ and ‘Dross’ and continues the Glaswegians’ approach of making all their music in Bear’s flat, self-engineering and self-producing everything.
The results: a very busy 2015. First, they were invited to support reformed shoegaze legends Ride on their first UK tour in 20 years and then famous fan Paolo Nutini at a one-off outdoor show at Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park.
Tuff Love have played festivals including Glastonbury, T in the Park, and Latitude. Now catch them at Dalston Victoria in London on 12 November 2015.
