Elena Tonra, Igor Haefeli, and Remi Aguilella’s follow-up to 2013’s ‘If You Leave’ was recorded in New York this summer with Nicolas Vernhes at his Brooklyn studio. Under the guidance of the Deerhunter and War On Drugs collaborator the group have progressed both sonically and lyrically, as evidenced by the collection’s first single ‘Doing The Right Thing’, which tackles the subject of dementia and its effect on family.
Daughter invited the directors of the Nick Cave film ‘20,000 Days on Earth’ to create three films for ‘Not To Disappear’, based on three short stories by author Stuart Evers, in turn inspired by select album tracks. ‘Doing The Right Thing’ (based on the story ‘Dress’) is the first of the videos by filmmakers Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard.
