Bring Me The Horizon set for London’s O2 Arena

Bring Me The Horizon are following a triumphant 2015 with their first ever UK arena tour that includes a stop at London’s O2 Arena on 5 November 2016.

This will mark the Sheffield quintet’s second major show in the capital: in April they are performing with an orchestra at the iconic Royal Albert Hall as part of the annual Teenage Cancer Trust concert series.

The band are still riding high following the huge international success of their fifth album, ‘That’s The Spirit’, which topped the US and Australian charts and hit the number two spot at home, ultimately debuting in the top 10 album charts in 16 countries.

‘That’s The Spirit’ builds on the breakout success of its predecessor, 2013’s ‘Sempiternal’, which featured his like ‘Shadow Moses’ and ‘Can You Feel My Heart’.

“We normally have big ups and downs during a campaign,” explains frontman Oli Sykes. “We’d sell out Brixton but go to a festival and be ready for shit to be thrown at us. ‘Sempiternal’ was the first time everything had been overwhelmingly positive.”

The same can be said for Sykes’ own life, with his personal experiences fuelling the new songs.

“It’s about finding the light in the darkness,” reveals Sykes. “Even my worst experiences ultimately got me to this point: being bullied at school, my drug addiction, the people that have wronged me – I took it and turned it into something awesome.”

As such, the new songs also needed a new vocal approach.

“With screaming, there’s not much more you can get across beyond anger and desperation,” Sykes reasons. “And this time, we wanted to say so much more”.
