OnBlackheath line up revealed

Primal Scream, Belle and Sebastian, Hot Chip, and James are among the big names nabbed for OnBlackheath 2016.

The two-day London festival, taking place on 10 and 11 September 2016, will also feature performances from the likes of Róisín Murphy, Squeeze, Lonelady, and Soak.

Tickets are available now.

Primal Scream release their 11th studio album, ‘Chaosmosis’, on 18 March. The follow up to ‘More Light’ was recorded in Sweden and London and will be supported by four intimate shows and a series of summer festival dates.

Belle and Sebastian last year released the follow-up to 2010’s ‘Write About Love’. ‘Girls In Peacetime Want To Dance’, recorded in Atlanta with Grarls Barkley and Animal Collective collaborator Ben H. Allen III, was partly inspired by vintage Detroit techno and Giorgio Moroder. As a result, the album was billed as the most diverse of their 20 year career, an anniversary the Scottish band are celebrating with special performances of their albums ‘Tigermilk’ and ‘If You’re Feeling Sinister‘ at Royal Albert Hall in June.

James’ performance at OnBlackheath will follow an extensive UK tour in support of their 14th album, ‘Girl At The End Of The World’, released on 18 March. “The essence of James is live,” says the band’s Jim Glennie. “The pleasure never diminishes. I can’t wait for us to get our hands on these songs in front of the best audience a band can have.”

Hot Chip, who released their latest album ‘Why Make Sense?’ in May 2015, spent most of last year on the road, culminating in an extended UK tour including two Brixton Academy shows in October. This year Joe Goddard, Alexis Taylor, Felix Martin, Al Doyle, and Owen Clarke will be performing at a series of European festivals including BBK in Bilbao, Nos Alive in Lisbon, and Bestival.
