PAWS are back with a new record and, in June and July, a full-scale UK tour that includes an album release show at Moth Club.
Tickets to the London show, on 2 July 2016, are available now.
‘No Grace’, the third LP by the Scottish trio, continues their tradition of emotionally charged lyrics and whiplash punk first introduced in 2012 on both ‘Misled Youth’ EP and debut album ‘Cokefloat!’. Recorded on a boat/studio by former Test Icicle Rory Attwell, the latter release led to them supporting the likes of The Cribs and We Are Scientists out on the road.
For the recording of their second album, PAWS decamped to a home studio in the woods of upstate New York. Tracked live, the raw ‘Youth Culture Forever’ added new dimensions to its predecessor’s sound, with the ensuing year-long tour pushing the band members to their limits and to new heights.
That ambition continued in the tour’s aftermath, a reflective period during which they wrote and ‘No Grace’. Enlisting Blink 182’s Mark Hoppus as a producer who could help them get the most out of their new songs, the band spent last summer recording in Glasgow and Somerset. The results sound stronger and more confident than anything PAWS have released to date.
‘No Grace’ is released on 17 June.
