Modern Baseball have announced their biggest European tour to date.
The trek, in early 2017, culminates on 18 February at the O2 Forum in Kentish Town. Their biggest headline show outside the US follows a successful year for the Philadelphia band.
Following the release of their album ‘Holy Ghost’, the quartet have made frequent trips across the Atlantic, including their upcoming appearances at the Reading and Leeds festivals.
The group began as an acoustic duo featuring high school friends Jacob Ewald and Brendan Lukens who shared a love of The Gaslight Anthem, Say Anything, and Motion City Soundtrack. By the 2012 release of their debut album, ‘Sports’, the band had expanded to include bassist Ian Farmer and drummer Sean Huber.
They followed their 2015 EP ‘The Perfect Cast’ with ‘Holy Ghost’, their first LP recorded with an outside producer. Joe Reinhart (Hop Along, Joyce Manor) helped the band refine their sound over the album’s 11 songs and 28 minutes. Featuring six tracks by Ewald and five by Lukens, the record is the perfect summation of the past two years in the band members’ lives.
