Deftones are returning to London in support of their eighth album, ‘Gore’.
The band – who last hit the city in June when they headlined Wembley Arena.- play Alexandra Palace on 5 May.
Vocalist/guitarist Chino Moreno, guitarist Stephen Carpenter, keyboardist/samplist Frank Delgado, drummer Abe Cunningham, and bassist Sergio Vega have already had a busy year. Since the new album’s release, they’ve headlined Travis Barker’s Musink Festival, appeared at SXSW, and played summer festivals like Carolina Rebellion, Rock on the Range, Rock AM Ring, Rock IM Park, and Download.
The Sacramento, California band also joined the ranks of Iron Maiden and Megadeth, launching their own beer, Phantom Bride IPA. Billed as a “hoppy West Coast style India Pale Ale” it features Mosaic, Amarillo, Simcoe, and Citra hops, all handpicked by Moreno.
“As a huge beer connoisseur it was a privilege collaborating with Belching Beaver on the flavour profiles and coming out with a beer that I would put right up with any of my favourites,” says the singer.
Moreno was just as enthusiastic about ‘Gore’ ahead of its release. “Out of respect for Pac, Big, Stevie, Michael, Hendrix, Gore is ONE of the greatest albums – not the greatest, just one of,” he said of the LP, which went on to debut at #2 on the US Billboard 200 charts.
