Johnossi raise their ‘Hands’ at Oslo

Following their sold-out headline show at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen in November, Johnossi are returning to London.

The Swedish duo, who’ve just dropped their new single ‘Hands’, play Oslo in Hackney on 15 February, just two days before the release of their album ‘Blood Jungle’.

‘Hands’, an indie-rock anthem that addresses police brutality from both the victim and the perpetrator’s perspective, is indicative of their forthcoming fifth LP that’s been described as “bigger, bolder, brighter, and looser” than their previous work.

“Full of light and ambition”, the follow-up to ‘Transitions’ sees singer/guitarist John Engelbert and drummer/percussionist Oskar “Ossi” Bonde collaborating for the first time with some of Sweden’s top hitmakers who’ve worked with the likes of Lana Del Rey, Charli XCX, Ellie Goulding, and Avicii.

The Stockholm-based duo first gained attention in their home country with their self- titled debut album in 2005. Following it up with ‘All They Ever Wanted’, ‘Mavericks’, and ‘Transitions’, Johnossi have toured Europe, the US, and Japan; supported the likes of The Hives and Green Day; and won a Swedish Grammy Award for Best Group along the way.
