Meet H. Grimace. The London-based post-punk band have announced their debut album, its lead single, and a string of London dates.
The four-piece – Hannah Gledhill (vocals/guitar), Marcus Browne (guitar), Corin Johnson (bass), and Diago Gomes (drums) – play The Lexington with Great Ytene on 17 February, The Old Blue Last on 26 March, and Rough Trade East on 13 April.
‘Land/Body’, the first taste of H. Grimace’s debut album ‘Self Architect’, “took inspiration from the idea that we are living through the end of nature and what changes have occurred from the likes of mass production and standardisation”, say the band.
“It delves into the possibilities that this has affected our sense of belonging and roots as Hannah sings ‘Nothing thrives in uniformity’, truly resonating that notion.”
The forthcoming LP, due on 7 April, follows 2015’s sold out ‘I Am Material’ tape and last year’s ‘Royal Hush’ 7-inch.
