The last time Green Day released a greatest hits album, 2001’s ‘Superhits!’, things were looking a little shaky. ‘Warning’, from the year before, was their first LP since signing to a major label without multi-platinum sales figures. The wave of success that had followed their breakout ‘Dookie’ was crashing. And the trio hadn’t yet released ‘American Idiot’, the decade-defining record that would become not just their ‘Sgt Peppers’ or ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’, but a hugely successful Broadway musical and a major reason their career didn’t go the way of The Offspring.

‘Anything Could Happen’ for Bash & Pop in London

Tommy Stinson’s resurrected Bash & Pop headed to London for two shows.

The group, featuring The Replacements bassist on guitar and vocals alongside new recruits Steve Selvidge (lead guitar), Justin Perkins (bass), and Joe Sirois (drums), play a headline gig at The Garage on 29 June.

On 1 July they support Green Day at British Summer Time in Hyde Park.

Green Day at The O2 in London

When it comes to arena rock shows, Green Day know that more is always more. So, over the course of two-and-a-half hours, we get fireworks, thunderclaps, flames, confetti, T-shirt guns, water hoses, people pulled up on stage to sing and play guitar, Freddie Mercury-style singalongs, and even the saxophone solo from ‘Careless Whisper’.

Green Day dawns at The O2

Green Day are heading back to the UK for their first shows since headlining Reading and Leeds Festivals in 2013.

As part of the arena tour, the band play The O2 in London on 8 February 2017 with support from The Interrupters.

Tickets go on sale on 9 September from www.axs.com, www.gigsandtours.com, and www.ticketmaster.co.uk.
