It sounds like the plot of a feel-good Hollywood movie: unsigned band, called up to the big leagues by resurgent indie legends, win over audiences’ hearts. But for The Slow Readers Club it’s their reality.

The Manchester quartet have been invited to support James on an extensive national tour that will see them play the largest venues of their career – rooms like Brixton Academy, Manchester Arena, and, tonight, The Kentish Town Forum. If they’re at all nervous, they don’t let on.

The Slow Readers Club join James on tour

The Slow Readers Club are supporting James on their upcoming national tour, which includes three London performances, just after playing their own headline show in the capital.

The indie-electronica outfit from Manchester play Birthdays on 30 April 2016 before joining the Girl At The End Of The World tour at Shepherd’s Bush Empire (4 May), The Kentish Town Forum (6 May), and Brixton Academy (7 May) at the personal request of James members Jim Glennie and Saul Davies.
